We frequently get asked about our key code cabinets: ‘how do I access a defibrillator?’

Good question!

In the event of calling for an ambulance, the ambulance service call handler, will ask you a series of questions. The first two questions will determine to the call handler, whether the patient is in ‘cardiac arrest’

Q1) is the patient breathing?
Q2) is the patient conscious?

The call handler has, on their screen, all available resources in the area. If the patient is believed to be in cardiac arrest, They will give you the code, for you to send someone to retrieve the nearest AED!
